Officials discuss Discovery's readiness for launch at the traditional pre-launch news conference. Briefing the news media are: John Shannon, Space Shuttle Deputy Program manager; Mike Suffredini, International Space Station Program manager; Mike Leinbach, shuttle launch director; Alan Thirkettle, International Space Station Program manager, European Space Agency; and U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Kaleb Nordgren, 45th Weather Squadron.
