Delta 323/THEMIS: Rocket nose cone installed around the spacecraft

The two halves of the United Launch Alliance Delta 2 rocket's 10-foot diameter nose cone are installed around the THEMIS spacecraft for launch. The shroud protects the payload during the climb through the atmosphere.
