Orbital construction of the International Space Station commenced in late 1998 with the first element -- Russia's Zarya module -- being launched aboard an unmanned Proton rocket and space shuttle Endeavour bringing up the American Unity connecting hub. The astronauts from the STS-88 mission narrate the highlights from the historic first steps in building the orbiting outpost.
