Using the Orbiter Boom Sensor System attached to the end of Endeavour's robotic arm, the astronauts perform inspections of the shuttle's wing leading edge panels and nose cap to look for any space debris impacts that could have occurred during the mission. This now-standard survey for each shuttle mission is known as the late inspections.
