Damage at pad 39A

NASA engineers are investigating the extensive damage to launch pad 39A that occurred during Discovery's May 31, 2008 launch on mission STS-124. Over 5000 bricks were ripped from the wall of the flame trench beneath the mobile service platform on which the shuttle stands.
